I knew James well, albeit not closely, from the times we worked together when I was chair of the British Burn Association (1999-2004). Always an inspiration, always positive, always focused on his goal since age 18: helping us all realise that people are not defined by how they look facially, and helping those with facial disfigurement face the world with confidence.
